New tab

When you click , Yandex Browser opens a new tab. You can find all relevant information here. You can customize the appearance and content of the new tab.

1. SmartBox performs search by queries, URLs, and images.

2. Tableau is a panel with widgets for the pages that you visit most often. You can set up a full or compact tile list.

3. Yandex Browser hints teach you how to use Yandex Browser.

4. Settings control the design of the new tab page.

Set up the design

Now you can customize the design of a new tab. Just choose the appropriate option.

Clock and date, Search bar, and Yandex Browser hints

The clock and the search bar are enabled by default. To disable them:

1. In the bottom-right corner, click .

2. Under New tab view, disable Clock and date, Search bar, and Yandex Browser hints.

Tableau mode

1. Bring up the context menu by clicking the right mouse button.

2. Under New tab screen view, choose the option you need:

   • Classic, if you want to use the familiar Yandex Browser interface.

   • Minimal, if you want to see minimum information and maximum background. Only the bottom row of the Tableau tiles is visible. To view the remaining tiles on the Tableau, scroll up.

You can also change the Yandex Browser background and disable ads under the Tableau.

You can change the appearance of the Tableau in the new tab:

1. Нажмите  → Настройки.

2. Open Interface → New tab page view.

3. Next to Show Tableau, select the option you need:

   • Full, if you want to see the maximum number of tiles.

   • Compact, if you want to see the minimum number of tiles. To see the rest of the tiles, scroll up.

Informers and notifications

Yandex aims to keep you informed: the new tab page shows notifications about traffic jams, incidents, and important events happening in your area. In addition, below the clock, you can find a weather informer.

You can choose which information you want to see on the new tab page:

1. Нажмите  → Настройки.

2. Go to Interface.

3. Under New tab page view, click Informer and notification settings.

4. Select the notifications and informers you need.
