Translation of pages, images, and videos

The built-in translator shows words and phrases in the language used in the Yandex Browser interface. It can also recognize text in images and provides translation over the source text. In addition, Yandex Browser can translate videos into Russian and Kazakh. Watch videos in your native language with the dubbing feature.

Yandex Browser automatically detects the language of the loaded page. If it's different from the interface language, Yandex Browser asks if you want to translate it. You can also open the translation window by clicking  or  → Translate page.

Live videos

Unlike recorded videos, where the neural network gets the entire audio track at once, livestreaming requires it to work on the fly, like a simultaneous interpreter. Speech recognition and voice-over take time, so the translation appears after a few seconds, not immediately at the very beginning of the livestream.

Subtitles

    • Style: You can choose the font size, adjust the transparency of the subtitle background, and enable the Scale automatically option. When this option is enabled, the subtitle size adjusts to the size of the video window.
